Renato Ratti Battaglione Barbera D’Alba 2019

Description

Barbera grapevine used to be the daily, homemade wine of Piedmont region. Thanks to great wineries, like Renato Ratti’s one, it eventually succeeded in joining the top-of-the-range Italian wines. After fermenting in steel, it matures in French oak barrels for a few months.

Sensory analysis

A ruby red color. The nose immediately reveals its complexity through notes of ripe plum and spices. A complexity reaffirmed on the palate by a structured and mouth-filling sip and by a long finish.

Excellent through the whole meal, it matches perfectly all meat-based recipes, including soups and ragout pasta.
